Chevron commits to Nigerian content development

The Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development(NOGICD) Act was endorsed in 2010. Before it’s enactment, only a few International Oil Companies (IOCs) had deliberately put in place policies to build, enhance and sustain the capacity of indigenous companies and contractors to enable them to fully participate in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

As part of measures to ensure total compliance with the provisions of the International Ships and Ports Facility Security (ISPS) code, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has taken stern measures against three alleged erring facilities namely; Heyden Petroleum Jetty, Index Petroleum Oil Jetty, Waziri Jetty operated by Hemsmor Nigeria Limited, NIPCO in Lagos, while the Pinnacle Oil and Gas Petroleum, Warri, Delta State was also affected by the action.
