The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said it has recorded 27 cases of accidents from January to October this year in Borno State.
The State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Malam Abdulkadir Najume, who disclosed this in Maiduguri, the state capital, said 102 people were involved in the road accidents among who 20 were females while 82 were males.
He also said 38 people sustained various degrees of injuries while 42 of them were rescued, adding that these accidents occurred from January 15 to October 2014 on various roads across the state.
“Just last month we recorded 22 cases of death along Minok which is 42 kilometres from Maiduguri the state capital. We shall keep on with our campaign targetted at high risk drivers, like commercial drivers and underage drivers,” he said.
According to him, the commission would continue to do enlightenment campaigns on the need for drivers to obey traffic laws to ensure safety on our roads.
