Bafana Bafana qualified to the final of the Four Nations Invitational Tournament after beating Angola 6-5 in a dreaded penalty shootout at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia on Wednesday.
Djalma Campos gave the Palancas Negras the lead going to halftime but an equaliser from Lebo Mothiba rescued Bafana from the jaws of defeat, forcing the match to be decided on penalties.
Nicolau Adriano and Justo Antonio missed their spot kicks for the Palancas Negras, while Djalma Campos, Daniel Macuenho, Quissanga Bartolomeu, Luis Calesso and Carmo Herienilson found the back of the net.
Dean Furman, Ryan Moon, Reeve Frosler, Motjeka Madisha and Sibusisi Vilakazi all buried their penalty kicks.Stuart Baxter”s charges will await the winner between Zambia and Zimbabwe for the final match.
