APGA: Former NERC boss, Amadi joins Imo guber race, pledges to revamp economy

OBIORA IFOH, Abuja

A frontline Imo governorship aspirant and former Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi said his aspiration was driven by the yearnings of the people for someone that will restore good governance.

While speaking to journalists at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abuja yesterday, Amadi vowed that he will revamp the fortunes of Imo state and to put it on the path of sustainable growth if elected as governor.

Amadi said that apart from focusing on development and economic growth in Imo State, his administration will not tamper with local government allocations. “I am here as a result of the yearnings of the Imo state people for someone to rescue it from bad governance. I am in hurry to heed that call because the work we want do cannot wait,” he said.

Amadi who went down memory lane to recount the glorious days of Imo state during the reign of Sam Mbakwe as governor, said the people are well known for their industrious and resourceful nature.

According to him, anyone that doubts his pedigree should do flash back to his days at the NERC where he posted an impressive record but in service delivery and transparency.”We are in a hurry to terminate the leadership of deceit, murderous incompetence of the last seven years. We are in a hurry to rebuild the foundation for the development of Imo state abandoned since late Governor Sam Mbakwe left office.

“APGA represents the spirit of people and the Imo people have chosen the party as the vehicle to terminate this decade misrule in the state that has condemned millions of the people to poverty and misery,” he said.
