The crisis rocking the newly registered Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance, ADPA took a new turn yesterday as two factions
While the Alhaji Shittu Kabiru Muhammad led Interim National Working Committee of the Party was sacked by the faction loyal to High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, on Tuesday, the Alhaji Shittu faction also suspended Chief Dokpesi and key members of his faction.
The Stake holders loyal to the media magnet insisted that the tenures of tithe NWC members led by Shittu had expired since June 14 this year in line with the constitution of the Party and that the meeting of yesterday complied with the Party’s Contitution as well as the provisions of the electoral Act as amended.
The following are the new National Officers of the Party: Mr Mainasa Illo, National Chairman, Chief Dan Nwanyawu , Chairman Board of Trustee, BOT, Mr Amobi Nwosu, National Secretary, Alhaji Muhammed Tanko, Deputy National Chairman (North) Dr Fijabi Adebo Deputy National Chairman (South) and Mr Ide Felix Equabor as the National Publicity among others
Addressing news men shortly after the meeting, the new National Chairman, Mr Illo pointed out that the former NWC ought to have organized a proper meeting to either extend their tenures or elected news officers in line with Constitution of the Party when their tenures expired but failed to do so for the reasons best know to them.
He said that the meeting also resolved to partake full in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State while the meeting as well approved the relocation ot the Party’s National secretariat to another spacious location in Abuja
Illo stated that the party with the appointment of new NWC members would now be reposition towards membership drive nationwide for it to contest and win in future elections.
However, the Shittu faction in a chat with media men in the party secretariat said the other faction lacks the power under the party constitution to summon a NEC meeting and therefore cannot sack the National working committee recognized by the Independent National electoral commission INEC.
It therefore suspended Dokpesi, Illo and Nwanyawu for anti party activities.
