APC leaders probe Oshiomhole over N12bn normination form preceedes

Oshiomhole will leave APC in opprobrium – Ogun party Chairman

….Accuse him of avoiding NEC meeting

Obiora Ifoh, Abuja

Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have started agitation over more than N12 billion generated by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC’s) generated during the sales of nomination forms and the National Chairman’s alleged delay tactics in giving account to the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting which they said was “overdue.”

One of the National officers who spoke on condition of anonymity with a select newsmen Monday in Abuja, said some party leaders are worried that the NWC has not been able to give account for all the money it generated during the primary elections conducted by Oshiomhole’s led administration.

The senior party man said by now the NWC ought to have called for a NEC meeting which he said “it is overdue.”

Investigations show that the APC’s NWC is sharply divided alongside interests.

Recalled that the organ had to postponed NWC meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday last week till Friday same week for reason not disclosed.

But during an interactive session with the party stalwart, he revealed that apart from division alongside 2023 presidential candidate which he said some leaders of the party have stated showing interest, some of the NWC members were not also on the same page with the National Chairman on the party’s position regarding the leadership of National Assembly and his choice of candidate for the position of the National Secretary yet to be replaced.

“What the leaders are saying is that the NWC can’t continue to keep the party members in the dark. The NEC meeting is long overdue. Even the issue of National Assembly leadership ought to have been discussed at such meeting before the party took position. As it is today, so many people are not happy because they were not consulted before Adams Oshiomhole announced that party will be supporting A and B for such positions,” the source revealed.

Meanwhile in a separate statement issued after an emergency meeting of the APC youth caucus in the North-central on Monday, the forum called on the NWC to call for a NEC meeting.

In a statement released in Abuja and signed by the APC North-central Youth Leader, Terver Aginde, said the caucus deliberated on several issues affecting the zone and the party at the National level and came to conclusion that a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party was overdue.

“We also advise the party to heal wounds and build a stronger and United APC rather than destroy it.

“We don’t see any reason of suspending people in the party, instead a NEC meeting should be called to review all that went wrong and find a lasting way of bringing the party back to it’s promises to Nigerians.”

While pleading to President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that anybody he will be appointed as Minister of Youths and Sport gets 2/3 endorsement from the party’s youth wing, Aginde said this is necessary so as to get the youths fully involved in APC administration.

“APC is a national party and it should be given a national look by building a united Nigeria that will accommodate all the six geo-political zones, not minding religion or tribe,” the caucus said.
