The Arch Bishop of Aba Province and Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, His Grace Arch bishop Ikechi Nwachukwu Nwosu, has lauded the Abia State pressmen for their positive and balance reportage on issues affecting the Anglican community and the entire Christian church in the state.
He said since he assumed the responsibility of the Diocese of Umuahia , the press has been kind and fair to him .Bishop Nwosu , who disclosed this at St Stephen ‘ s Anglican Church Umuahia during an interactive session with the pressmen, said: “I regard your work as sacred, because it is assumed that your reports are based on truth and honesty .
We are pouring out our heart of gratitude to you all for your attitudes towards us and our ministry .It is your kindness that has attracted this gratitude to you. If I have been at loggerheads with you, I do not think I would have been enjoying this favour from you .It is for this we invite you for this meal of love “ he noted.
Speaking further, he said, even when the soldiers came with python dance and done damages to the press hall ,that he personally did not like that ,adding that despite the hazards involved in their work,they should keep on their good work and do not complain .
In his response, The Abia State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist ( NUJ), Comrade Emejor , commended the Bishop for identifying and assisting the union during its trying period . “ When we had crisis as a result of the “python dance”, you remained one of those who assisted us both financially and spiritually. We can not thank you enough ,your action remains the best ever experience I have had”, he said.
