Anambra 2021: Group set to mobilize support for south zone candidacy

Ahead of 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election, a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) to mobilize support for production of Governor Obiano’s successor has been inaugurated in Anambra.

The group identified as Anambra State Equity Alliance (ANSEA) has was inaugurated yesterday and charged to meet with stakeholders in the state to make sure that Governor Willie Obiano’s successor comes from the Anambra South Senatorial zone of the state..

The Anambra South zonal coordinator of the group, Hon. Ikechukwu Emenike stated this during inauguration of the state and local government executive officers of the group at Tivoli Inn , Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State yesterday.

Emenike said the 22 member executive officers of the group had been properly equipped to go and work towards producing governor Obiano’s successor from Anambra South zone.

“They are to go and mobilize others and the people of the state to work towards delivering any governorship candidate from the Anambra South zone. If the governor has a preference,for equity, farness and justice, that candidate must come from Anambra South zone. APGA had already zoned the position of governor to Anambra South. We will work towards seeing that any popular candidate from the zone gets the slot”, Emenike stressed..

In an interview , Comrade Adigwe Pius Chukwunenye, the Anambra State Chairman of ANSEA said the group had nobody in mind as chosen candidate adding that ANSEA was only a pressure group canvassing support for Anambra South Senatorial Zone to produce the next governor of the state.

“We don’t have anybody in mind. Our mission is to make sure that the next governor of Anambra State comes from Anambra South Zone.It doesn’t matter which part of Anambra South the candidate comes from Nnewi, Aguat,, Ekwulobia, Ihiala or any other place. What matters is that the person must be credible, trustworthy, accessible and tested”, Adigwe said.

Other officers of the group included Mrs Chinelo Ezeokafor, State Woman Leader; Chigozie Hon. Emmanuel Mbieli, State Secretary,Mr Joseph Ogbogu, youth Leader and Mr. Nwosu Atuenyi,
