Alleged domestic violence: Mercy Aigbe’s husband to appear in Court May 24

Olarenwaju Gentry, husband of Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, will appear again at the Magistrate court in Ogba on May 24 over allegation of domestic violence.

The court, presided over by Magistrate F. O, Davies Abegunde, will this time determine if Gentry will be permanently restrained from getting closer to Mercy Aigbe and the kids.

Why the temporary restraining order should not be made permanent will be determined by Gentry Olarenwaju before  the Magistrate Abegunde’s Court.

Mercy Aigbe, the applicant, who was represented  on Wednesday by Adeola Falale, is expected to tender medical report of the alleged domestic violence on her by her embattled husband.

Meanwhile, the Chief Magistrate Abegunde had restrained Gentry from getting anywhere near Mercy Aigbe and the children in her custody.

The decision is in response to a 25- paragraph affidavit filed by the Lagos State Domestic violence and response team, DSVRT, the scan report from a medical centre already before the court.

DSVRT through Falade on April 28, had approached the court and gave graphic account of the alleged domestic violence.

Adeola alleged that Gentry had gone to his wife’s tailor’s place to attack and beat her mercilessly.

She supported her claim with five photographs and copies of the medical scanned report of the applicant.

The application is in pursuant to section 5(1) 1(3) and section. 1(1) of protection against domestic violence and connected purposes law 2007.

The case was adjourned to May 24, 2017.
