Akpabio: Saraki’ll soon know he is playing kindergarten politics -Lawmaker

IBRAHIM QUADRI

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Yusuff on Monday hinted that after the defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki would know he was playing kindergarten politics.

Yusuff, member representing Alimosho Constituency I, gave the remark at a five-day third edition of his free health mission at the Ipaja-Ayobo Mini Stadium, Lagos.

The exercise which was carried out under the lawmaker’s initiative- Prince of Hope Turns to Reality Foundation (PHTRF), would hold in each of the five council areas that made up the constituency.

It would be recalled that the Head of Digital Communication of the Presidency, Tolu Ogunlesi, confirmed the meeting between the President and Akpabio in London on Sunday on his Tweeter handle, @toluogunlesi.

Ogunlesi tweeted: “Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, Senator representing the Akwa Ibom North West District, and Senate Minority Leader, today in London met with PMB.”

He attached photographs of the two leaders taken shortly before they met behind closed doors.

Recall also that Akpabio had last week met Vice-President Yemi  Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Reacting to this development, Tidied said, “The tsunami will happen, you know Akpabio is not a small boy. Before the week runs out,  you will see what is going to happen.

“When Akpabio was the Governor, he performed wonderfully well. I happened to be one of the delegates that visited Akwa Ibom for a seminar and we asked how he got the inspiration to perform well, he said I learnt it from you people in Lagos.

“He was grown and brought up and also learnt politics in Lagos. Somebody who graduated from Bola Tinubu University of politics, you must know the kind of person will be.

“You will see the multiplier effects of his defection from that tattered umbrella to a comfort. It is going to be a positive one for the nation.  Akpabio has been watching those ones that are self-centred and ego-centric. He is not going to be alone, others will follow him. By that time Saraki will know he is just playing kindergarten politics.

While answering question on the possibility that the ruling party wants to induce them financially, the lawmaker noted that Buhari is not that kind politician that would give money for lobbying.

“Buhari is a discipline man; he will never use money to induce anyone. It will be based on principle and superior argument. On the light rail project that has just been commissioned, people praised Bulgari, do you think those people will not follow Buhari?

Is there anyone that can beat the integrity and honesty of President Buhari today? What is happening is that when you fight corruption, corruption will fight you in multiple ways. They have all these monies stolen, they want to use it to fight back but the spirit of innocent people will not let it come to reality,” Yusuff said.

For a better society.
