Adejumo Tennis & Sports Development Club gets new exco

Adejumo Tennis & Sports Development Club, by NNPC junction, Ejigbo Lagos has inaugurated members of the new executive. In his opening prayers, Pastor Uche Ezeagwu prayed for a successful outing, as well as wisdom to continue to keep the vision and aspirations of the founder, Alhaji Raheem Adejumo going strong while praying that sports will continue to unite us as a nation, rather than divide us.

Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Giwa, represented by Dr. T. Akerele highlighted the importance of sports and exercise to the general well being of individuals and the society at large. Alh Bash Adejumo, Director and Trustee of the club in his founder’s remarks traced the vision of the founder, Alh Raheem Adejumo of blessed memory to his passion for sports in Nigeria and how development of sporting activities has united us in many ways.

Pointing out that sports has brought Nigeria many laurels in the past, Sir Jude Idimogu, member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Isolo 11 constituency, where the club is located, said he will use his good office to bring the attention of Lagos State government to the world class facilities the club provide. He said that it will be cheaper for the state and federal governments to help maintain the facilities rather than build a new one. In his remarks, the newly elected chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon Obe, thanked his constituents present for counting him worthy of their votes and promised to partner with the new executive board of Adejumo Tennis & Sports Development Club, ATSDC to take the club to the next level.

In his remarks, Mr. ikechukwu Okpo, alluded to the importance of sports and exercise to the general well being of individuals and families and hope that the community will take advantage of the sporting facilities to improve their health. On his part, the outgoing President, Mr Olusegun Sanni enumerated the achievements as well as challenges his administration faced. On the plus side, were sustainable development of the facilities of the sporting club and kept the members highly motivated and enthusiastic about using the club facilities. On the down side, he listed amongst others, the court judgment and the Ojo Barbers saga while appreciating the trustees for the peaceful resolution of the matter.

On his part the new president, Alhaji Sanni expressed appreciation to the club for counting him and his new executive team worthy and for the confidence reposed on the new executive. He promised to do his best to move the club forward and to an enviable height. He further challenged the three tiers of government to use available resources to help develop sports and sporting facilities across the country, so that the youths can better channel their youthful energies to winning national and international laurels for Nigeria.
