Afpfrint Conglomerate, Isolo, Lagos, was today  (Friday), engulfed in a raging fire which destroyed equipment estimated at N3.5 billion naira. But no life was lost at press time.

Daily Champion gathered that the fire started at Ranona Limited, the fruit juice producing company in the conglomerate at about 2pm and raged ferociously.

The inferno completely overwhelmed the men and officers of the Lagos state Fire Service who deployed no fewer than ten trucks to subdue the fire to no avail.

Sympathizers watched helplessly as the fire spread from one section to other, destroying equipment and property , while over zealous police men chased away some individuals who wanted to assist in putting out the fire.

Initially, staff of a popular auto marketing company and a first generation bank close to the scene of the incident, were apparently lukewarm to the danger lurking around their premises.

Moments later, however, the auto firm quickly mobilized people who pushed the vehicles out of danger.

He said : “When the fire started, we promptly ordered every worker to vacate the premises and thereafter, conducted a staff audit. I can tell you for sure that no life was lost.

“ But in terms loss of property, no fewer than seven processing machines were destroyed by the fire which also razed three other sections at press time. These machines are very sensitive and each of them costs at least N500 million naira.”
