Christmas: Security of Nigerians should be addressed – Mark tells Buhari govt

The David Mark Campaign Organization today refuted in strong terms media reports credited to the Director of Publicity, Dan Onjeh,Campaign Organization Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, alluding to the fact that Senator Mark has recruited militants from the Niger Delta to prosecute his rerun.

Speaking with Daily Champion in Makurdi,Dr Adakole Elija, Director of Publicity, David Mark Campaign Organization described the statement as unfounded even as he accused the APC of only revealing what it intends to do during the rerun.

Elija while expressing disappointment at the smear campaign stated that” it is unfortunate that the APC could resort to such campaign of calumny. You are very much aware that we have had course in the past to inform the Benue public plans by the APC to use security agencies to rig this elections and based on what we said, they are now advancing a media campaign that would avail them a leverage to carry out their evil plans and we are not going to succumb to such campaigns nor any form of intimidation”

The media consultant called on security agencies not to allow themselves to be used in the course of the elections as doing so, he insisted will be greeted with a very stiff resistance by the people of the zone adding that” we want people outside of this zone to stay clear, this is a zone C affair and external forces must allow us to decide our destiny. We are going to win this elections landslide and like i said, any attempt to subvert the collective will of the people will be very strongly resisted”

He charged the people of the zone not to trade off their pride as according to him, the battle was that between the continue survival of the Idoma nation against forces out to enslave the political future of the Idoma people concluding that.

” This is a battle for the soul of the Idoma Nation and no amount of smear media campaign will stop us from regaining our pride as a people. It is not just about politics, it is about the political future and self- determination of our people and this is what we have vowed to protect for the sake of posterity”
