3 suspected assassins shoot pastor in Anambra

THREE  unidentified gun men believed to be assassins,  yesterday at Afor-Igwe market, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State shot a pastor, Izuchukwu Aghaegbuna, as he was about to buy fuel for his generator.
Trouble started for him when he left his house to procure fuel at the said market at about 8 pm last Sunday.
On getting to the market, he alighted from his path –finder jeep and crossed over to the other side of the road to buy the fuel and in the process of procuring the fuel, three men on motorcycle, armed to the teeth, called him, “pastor”.  As he turned to look at those who were calling him, they shot him repeatedly at close range and drove off.
He immediately slumped and was rushed to Iyi-Enu mission hospital when he is placed on danger list.
His belongings that included his vehicle, fuel, jewel rich, wrist watch and money were not touched as they left him, as soon as they shot him.
Speaking on his hospital bed, he told newsmen that “I saw the motorcycle  getting to me and  one of them said, “Pastor” and as I looked to know who is calling me they shot me repeatedly and left immediately without dispossessing me of my belongings”..
A police team from Ogidi police station believed to be investigating the matter was seen interrogating the victim who was being nursed by his wife, Rita and a friend, Evangelist Wealth Onwe of Holy Ghost and Zoe Gospel ministry.
Both the duo and the counsel to the victim, Barr. Pat Agbata, thanked God that the victim did not die, adding that it was a miracle.
