Senator Victor Umeh has vowed not to give way for APC and PDP candidates to overcome him in the 2019 general elections saying that APGA remains the choice party for Anambra and Ndi Igbo.
Umeh who was declared winner of the APGA primaries for Anambra Central Senatorial District stated this when addressing the press at the St. Mathews Catholic Church premises shortly after he was returned as the APGA flag bearer for the senatorial district for the 2019 election, in Awka recently.
Umeh, the sole aspirant on the platform of the APGA for the senatorial seat who scored 207 out of the 209 votes cast said APC and PDP were non-existent parties as far as APGA is overwhelmingly in charge in the state. The former APGA Chairman said his return for the senatorial seat was based on his performances at the senate where he initiated two bills and motions adjudged to be the best of bills passed by the senate since his tenure and the creditable performance of the APGA in Anambra State.
Umeh said that his going back to the senate would mean greater effort and much better performance for Nigerians,Igbo and Anambra people if he eventually wins in the 2019 election adding that why Nigerians have continued to suffer is because strongly vocal people such as he are lacking to call for constitutional amendment to restructure the country for the benefit of all Nigerians.
He said as strong voice in the senate and a person of strong will, he would continue to call for the emancipation of Nigerians from poverty, ignorance, disease and bad leadership.
“ When I win the 2019 election, I will stay another 4 years . I will then surpass what I have done in this tenure. We defeated all those other parties we we will defeat them again. As for APC they are extinct in Anambra State. During this tenure, I have been able to spread constituency projects across my senatorial district, I have rehabilitated, schools, health centres, boreholes, among others. This time, I will surpass my performance.
I have initiated two bills and motions among which is the ‘stoppage of imprisonment of underage persons with adult inmates’ which has been adjudge one of the best bills in the senate”, Senator Umeh said. The APGA candidate urged INEC to adhere to President Muhammadu Buhari’s advise to conduct the 2019 elections freely and fairly to retain its integrity as unbiased and independent umpire and to avoid incurring the wrath of Nigerians.
